Bach and Jazz, January 14

Concert 8pm, $20 adults, $15 over 65, $5 students. Tickets available here or online at The Bach Society of Minnesota and at the door.

The worlds of Baroque and Jazz music may seem miles, if not continents apart, but six amazing Twin City musicians will get together to explore the common ground where these genres intersect. Baroque artists Paul Boehnke, harpsichord; Julie Elhard, viola da gamba; and Jin Kim, baroque violin join Jazz artists Chris Olson, guitar; Chris Bates, bass; and Jay Epstein, drums in an exciting collaboration. Come be part of a fun exploration of Bach's music, Bach inspired Jazz and some jazzed up Bach.

Dan Gilliam of MPR will be facilitating a discussion between Paul Boehnke (on the Baroque side) and Chris Olson (on the Jazz side.)

Donation bar available, snacks donated by Trader Joes.

The mission of the Bach Society of Minnesota is to build a community gathered to hear, perform, and promote the music of J.S. Bach. Working together we aim to encourage musicians, invigorate the audience, and build cooperation and partnerships with other community organizations.
