IMDA Honors Bill Conlan, Nov 16
Event begins at 7:30pm. Doors at 7pm. Suggested donation is $10 with proceeds benefiting IMDA’s Educational Grant Program.
The community is cordially invited to IMDA Honors Bill Conlan!
IMDA Honors is a celebration of the outstanding contributions of the keepers of our Irish traditions, those who share their gifts generously, enrich our lives and help to preserve our traditions for future generations.
Bill Conlan is a wonderful example of a community member with a lifelong history of support and involvement in our local Irish community. As a member of the famous Gallivanters, the musical group that was the mainstay of Irish music at Gallivan’s for many years (and later Mancini’s), Bill has entertained countless audiences with his rich baritone. Bill is also famous (or infamous) for his 53-year tradition of entertaining our honored elders in his St. Patrick’s Day Nursing Home Tour. Bill was also very involved in the early years of Irish Fair Minnesota and edited the Irish Fair newsletter for several years. (He has some great stories to tell about the early years of Irish Fair - or the Irish Heritage Festival.)
Known for his signature rendition of the Fields of Athenry, among other favorites, Bill is always willing to add a song or a story to any gathering.
November 16 will be an evening of music and memories, not to be missed. Everyone is encouraged to bring a dessert to share.
