The Center for Irish Music and Jim Rogers, Honorary Event Chair and director of the Center for Irish Studies at the University of Saint Thomas invite you to dress up in your finest, bring your friends and join us at The Celtic Junction for Éigse CIM, A Gaela Event.

Éigse [eg-shuh] is an Irish word used for festivals celebrating traditional Irish arts and culture. It is in this spirit that we gather for an evening to raise funds for The Center for Irish Music and the mission of handing down traditional Irish music.

This semi-formal evening event includes two ticket options for attendees: come early to share a meal provided by Cara Irish Pubs, or join us later in the evening for the silent auction and concert featuring the stellar traditional Irish music of the CIM Instructors who boast recording, award winning, and world touring artists among their number.

This year's Éigse CIM will be emceed by award-winning storyteller, bodhrán player and singer, Máirtín de Cógáin of Carrigaline, County Cork. An infectious personality and wonderful spirit, Máirtín adds a wonderful tone to the night.

Ticket prices:

  • $60.00 - guests arriving at 5:00 p.m. for dinner, silent auction reception and concert
  • $25.00 - guests arriving at 7:00 p.m. for silent auction reception and concert
  • $600.00 - table sponsorship, including seating for 10 guests at dinner and full event attendance.

Honorary Event Chair, Jim Rogers is director of the Center for Irish Studies at the University of St Thomas and editor of the journal, New Hibernia Review. He’s written numerous articles and reviews, both academic and popular, and has edited two books: After the Flood, Irish America, 1945-1960 and Extended Family: Essays on Being Irish American . Rogers is a past president of the American Conference for Irish Studies. An essayist and poet, his new book on cemeteries, Northern Orchards, will appear from North Star Press next May.

“Traditional Irish music is a bridge between generations, a badge of identity, and a major port of entry into the whole of Irish culture. The Center for Irish Music is not just keeping the tradition alive—it’s enabling the tradition to expand and stay new.”
